International Love: British Lingerie Brand Charini Debuts SS 12 Collection

As London Fashion Week nears it’s end, we have a moment of nostalgia at all the beautiful fashion we got to see in the past few days. Of course, we took some extra time of any lingerie lovers displaying their latest collection to British fashionistas. Our search leads us Sri-Lankan designer Charini Suriyage and her ethical lingerie line.

Charini, known for their contemporary twist on vintage and timeless lingerie designs, was one of the featured lingerie designers at London Fashion Week. When we took a look at her designs, we were in awe at the luxurious hand-crafted designs. The brand’s philosophy is “Our philosophy is to create real luxury through celebrating design, reviving heritage crafts in Sri Lanka, considering the welfare of the environment and ultimately eliminating metal, plastics or harmful dyeing…”. Not only can women invest in timeless pieces, they can assured that their money is being used to better communities in the designer’s home country of Sri Lanka. The designer works together with communities of manufacture traditional crafts helping to revitalized a dying industry in the country while helping to stimulate income for these communities. She says her ideal client is the “sophisticated woman who appreciate beauty and luxury…” and we can see how those women would fall in love with her elegant, rich designs.
