Fashion’s Night Out: The Lingerie Edition

NYC was lively and festive last night with the whole city being taken over by the fashion industry. This year’s Fashion’s Night Out had the city buzzing in anticipation for what we’ll see during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and all the top designers were front and center, indulging customers with super savings, tasty cocktails, and vibrant music filling the streets. From Midtown to Soho, the sidewalks were packed with people trying to get a glimpse and I was right there in the mix of everything!

Now we all know that I am a lover of lingerie so instead of focusing on all the trends, designs, and events centered around ready-to-wear, I decided to go another route. For my Fashion’s Night Out, I decided to take a visit to events filled with all the lingerie one girl could ever dream. Enter Journelle and Agent Provocateur.

My first stop was Agent Provocateur and it was everything you dream of when you walk into a lingerie store. The naughty girl boutique tucked away on Mercer street was packed with tons of ladies admiring the walls dripping with all the lace they could handle. The event was in celebration of their new Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. Everyone was flocking to the beautiful designs with a glass of delicious champagne in hand. To top it off, their window display had people talking as well. Instead of traditional mannequins, the edgy French brand opted for something a little more edgy – so they had a live model strutting her stuff in the window for all to see and admire. Take a look

My next stop was just a few steps done. Journelle has always held a special place in my heart because it spread the beauty of lingerie to chic women everywhere. The festive environment included a live DJ, hor d’oeuvres, and delicious cocktails all while enjoying the beautiful pieces of lingerie from different designers all over the store. However, there was one designer there to steal a little spotlight. For the special event, Journelle celebrated the launched of Stella McCartney new basics line at the store. Instead of blinding prints and patterns, fans of the brand can choose from an array of beautiful colors for bras and panties to create gorgeous matching sets all at a moderate price point. So it’s safe to say we’ll be seeing more of Ms. McCartney in the tiny boutique.

How could you not love it here?

Visiting these two intimate havens made my FNO experience a rememberable one and I only had one thing in mind while being out and admiring all this fashion – “I think it’s time to do a little shopping” 😉

Until next time,

xoxo The Vixen
